Mission One
At VGM, we believe in the inherent dignity and potential of every individual. In the heart of our cities, amidst the bustling streets and towering buildings, lives a community often overlooked and marginalized. These are individuals facing the dual challenges of substance abuse and homelessness, struggling to find a path to stability and recovery. Victory of God Missionaries Ministry, VGM, has been dedicated to transforming their lives through comprehensive and compassionate case management services.
Mission One is to provide tailored support and guidance to those battling substance abuse and homelessness, empowering them to reclaim their lives and reintegrate into society as healthy, self-sufficient individuals.
Mission Two
In the heart of Africa, amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant cultures, lies a story of resilience and hope. This is the story of countless refugees who have fled their homes livelihoods, and dreams due to conflict, persecution, and hardship. These brave individuals and families arrive in unfamiliar lands with little more than the clothes on their backs, carrying with them dreams of a better future. Their journey to safety is fraught with challenges, but the path to rebuilding their lives is even more daunting. At VGM, we believe that every individual has the right to hope, to dream, and to create a future filled with promise and opportunity. We believe in turning these dreams into reality. VGM is dedicated to transforming the lives of displaced people by offering them the tools and resources necessary to become self-sufficient entrepreneurs. We understand that financial stability is a cornerstone of building a new life, and we are committed to providing micro-grants and comprehensive support to help refugees turn their business ideas into reality.
Mission Two is to empower African refugees to start anew by providing the financial support they need to launch small businesses and regain their independence, and by providing them with the resources and support they need to transform their lives and communities in the process.
THE MAN BEHIND THE VISION
Elvis was born into a world that, for a time, seemed full of promise. He grew up in Burundi with a loving mother and siblings who nurtured his early confidence. His days were carefree, filled with laughter and the ambitions of a young boy who believed in the goodness of life. He was curious and deeply passionate about languages, art, and music. His love for poetry, acting, and soul music shaped his understanding of the world. He devoured languages, becoming fluent in many spoken in the East African Community, though English was the one that captured his heart the most. His future felt bright, and with each passing year, he dreamed of a life where people lived in peace and respect.
But this illusion was shattered in 1993.
Civil war broke out in Burundi, and it hit close to home. The news of the massacre of several family members shook him to his core. His once-clear vision of a peaceful world dissolved, replaced by the grim reality of violence and bloodshed. At a young age, he learned that the dreams he’d held were fragile, mere fiction in the face of the brutal truth.
Still, he held onto hope. As he grew older, he believed that if people were educated, if they understood the manipulation of politics and the lies that fueled violence, maybe things could change. He enrolled at the University of Burundi and graduated in 2005, majoring in English. It was a path that opened doors for him, eventually leading him to what he then thought was his true calling: journalism…

Here are a few success stories and testimonials from the women who benefited from our last visit to Nakevale Refugee Camp
My name is Aisha Mwema, and I come from a small village in Burundi. Like many others, my life took a dramatic turn when conflict engulfed our country. I was forced to flee, along with my family, to Nakivale Refugee Camp in Uganda. Life as a refugee was difficult, especially for women like me. We arrived with nothing but the clothes on our backs, and for a long time, survival was a daily struggle. But through it all, God remained faithful, and through the work of Victory of God Missionaries Ministry, my life has been transformed in ways I could never have imagined.
My name is Fatima Hassan, and I was born and raised in Somalia. When war tore my country apart, I fled to Uganda with my two daughters. We arrived at Nakivale Refugee Camp with nothing, and like so many others, I had no idea how I would survive or provide for my children. Life in the camp was hard, and most of my days were filled with worry. The small ration of food we received never seemed to be enough, and I knew that something had to change.
That change came through Victory of God Missionaries Ministry.
I am Hadia Mwasa, and I am from the Democratic Republic of Congo. I fled my country with nothing but my four children after war broke out in our village. Life at Nakivale Refugee Camp was difficult, and as a single mother, the pressure to provide for my children was overwhelming. There were days when I didn’t know how we would make it through.
Victory of God Missionaries Ministry changed everything for me.
